HOW DO I CONTACT YOU?
I am accepting tattoo inquiries through my email: robotattoos@gmail.com which is linked to the CONTACT ME button in the header. Please read through my FAQ’s below before reaching out. It has all the pertinent information you will need.
I AM CURRENTLY BOOKING OUT 4-5 MONTHS. It is highly unlikely I would be able to get you in sooner than that. Please do not ask to skip the wait list, it’s just not something I am able or willing to do out of respect to those who have already been waiting.
Instagram is the best way to stay apprised of my most current updates: @robotattoos
Thanks for your patience and understanding!

What info do you need in the email?
1. Name, phone number, and pronouns. Were you referred by anyone?
2. Tattoo Description:
-What are you wanting? Try to be fairly specific. If you are adding onto/covering an existing tattoo, please attach photos.
-Where are you wanting it?
-What size?
-Black and grey or color?
-What style? Please attach example images if relevant.
3. Other Information:
-Do you have any allergies or health issues I should know of? Are you on any medications that might affect the healing of your tattoo (e.g. blood thinners)?
-What days of the week work best for your schedule?
-
I DON't understand the process, how does it work?
1. You email me with responses to the questions above. If you click CONTACT ME, an email form should pop up with the questions already loaded.
2. If I approve your tattoo concept, I will put your name on my wait list and notify you. I may have more questions for you at this time.
3. I will email you when I’m ready to schedule your (first) tattoo appointment. Depending on my wait times, this may take weeks or months. I will also send you a link to book your consultation via Zoom or in person, if one is needed.
4. During your consultation (or via email), we will discuss the finer points of your tattoo. At that time I will require a NON-REFUNDABLE $100 (cash, Venmo, or PayPal) deposit to secure your appointment. I do not send out drawings, so if you would like to meet to see the artwork about a week prior to your appointment, a drawing consultation must be made at that time.

HOW QUICKLY WILL I HEAR BACK?
I try to stay on top of emails, but I can’t always keep up! Tattooing is my full-time job, and I don’t have an assistant for scheduling, so it can often take me more than a month or two to get to emails. Please DO NOT EMAIL ME AGAIN, as it sends your email back to the bottom of the list and I answer them chronologically (meaning it will take even longer for you to receive an answer)!
Please don’t be offended if I turn down your request; I am trying to only take on projects that fit in my stylistic scope and that I would be the BEST fit for. There are many talented artists who cover a broad range of styles and specialties, and I may not be the artist best suited for your concept.
Upon email approval of your tattoo proposal, I will put your name on a wait list to be contacted in the future for booking. I will contact you via email to schedule your appointment and provide a link for you to schedule a consultation, if needed.

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?
As of January 1, 2025, my rates are $200/hour.
Larger pieces will be broken into sessions. A session is usually 4 hours, shorter or longer as necessary.
Tattoos shorter than one session may be quoted a set price.
I recommend at least 3 weeks between sessions to allow for healing time. I can only give a rough estimate of the time your tattoo will take upon receiving a description of the project.

Why do I have to email you, why can't I just come in to talk?
I am typically tattooing when at the shop and prefer to commit all my attention to the person I’m tattooing. I’m sure if you were the one being tattooed you wouldn’t want to be interrupted during time for which you are being billed hourly. Therefore, I prefer scheduled consultations.
Also, I can only schedule so many consultations in a day. I began to notice that a great deal of casual inquiries would book consultations and then not bother to show up. This means serious inquiries had to wait longer and longer for a simple consultation, for no reason. By requiring preliminary emails, I hope to minimize wait times for those who are serious about getting tattooed.
-
Can you send me sketches of the tattoo prior to my appointment?
Due to the proprietary nature of the artwork created for the eventual tattoo, I do not send out sketches prior to the tattoo appointment. If you want to see the artwork beforehand, you must make a second drawing consultation for about a week prior to the first tattoo appointment. This second consultation MUST BE MADE AT THE INITIAL SCHEDULING.
-
What do you like to tattoo? What won't you tattoo?
I’m pretty open to tattooing in most genres and styles but I will not tattoo anything hateful or gang related. I do not tattoo faces and am very selective when it comes to hands (including knuckles, fingers, and palms), side of the neck and throat, and significant others’ names (and other couple’s tattoos). I might not be the best fit for you if you’re wanting tribal, biomechanical, religious, geometric, Celtic knot work, or fantasy. I am no longer accepting watercolor style tattoos. Some things I love to tattoo include photorealism in color or black and grey, portraits, neo-traditional, American traditional, neo-Japanese, art nouveau, engraving, anime, and art reproduction.

How do I prepare for the tattoo?
The night before getting tattooed, make sure you get plenty of rest. Don’t drink alcohol prior to your appointment but do make sure to eat a full meal. Wear comfortable clothes that allow access to the intended tattoo area, and that you don’t mind possibly getting ink on. For example, if getting your back tattooed, bring a zip up hoodie that you can wear backwards to allow access to your back. If getting your upper arm tattooed, be prepared to remove your shirt or wear one loose enough to be taped up out of the way. You’re welcome to bring snacks or drinks to keep you blood sugar up.
-
What if I change my mind about the tattoo I want?
If your tattoo idea changes dramatically between your email consultation and the tattoo appointment, it may require another consultation and deposit and potentially need to be rescheduled. You must have a good idea of what you’re wanting to get tattooed prior to contacting me; I can help optimize your ideas for clarity and longevity as a tattoo, but I cannot help you decide what to get! It is important that you are ready to commit to your tattoo as it is a serious undertaking and no deposits will be refunded due to second-guessing your desire to get tattooed, changing your mind about what you want tattooed, missing your appointment without proper notice, or no longer having the budget.
-
Do I have to be 18 to get a tattoo from you?
Yes. If you’d like to start the consultation prior to turning 18, just know your appointment won’t be scheduled until after your 18th birthday.
-
Can I bring a friend?
Yes. There is limited room in the tattoo area, so please only bring one friend. Keep in mind that you may be there for many hours!
-
How long does it take a tattoo to heal?
Generally, a tattoo will heal in about two weeks. Everyone is different! Some variables that affect healing time include: AFTERCARE, location, extent of tattooing, health during procedure, active lifestyle, and AFTERCARE. You are responsible for how your tattoo heals, and yes, you can destroy it if not properly cared for! An exhaustively thorough guide to my specific care instructions can be found below.
-
Do you offer free touch ups?
I can offer free touch ups on work that I have done, provided you have cared for it as specified. I recommend at least three weeks from the last tattoo date up to six months. After six months, a tattoo begins to age naturally from the elements, and I may have to charge if extensive reworking must be done.
-
Is my tattoo infected? Am I allergic to the ink?
Infections are rare, however since tattooing breaks the skin there is always potential for infection. It is more likely that you may experience a varying degree of irritation. Signs of potential trouble include excessive swelling, redness, heat, and pain. More severe signs would be discoloration, seeping, and pus. If you experience these symptoms, contact the shop immediately. Most likely your conditions can be improved by simply washing and drying thoroughly and avoiding further irritation. Severe infections require antibiotics, but the tattoo is usually salvageable.
Ink allergy is even more rare with the ever-evolving technology and regulation in the tattoo industry. Symptoms might include severe itchiness that lasts long after the tattoo should be healed, continuing redness or burning sensation in the area, with only specific colors appearing to be affected. Contact the shop if you believe you are experiencing an allergic reaction.
-
Can you cover up old tattoos?
Yes! Almost every tattoo can be covered but there are limitations. The existing tattoo’s size and lightness will determine what’s possible. Poor material for coverups include: lettering, light colors, rigid or specific designs such as celtic, tribal, and portraits. Ideal coverups are organic in shape (such as flowers or free form designs), have plenty of texture (such as scales), and include the use of color. Many people claim they don’t care what covers their tattoo, but it is crucial you choose something that you will like! There is no point in obscuring an unwanted tattoo with a much larger and equally unwanted tattoo! Particularly large or difficult coverup projects may benefit from a session or two of laser removal, but I do not endorse any other removal methods as they are either ineffective or damaging.
-
Can you tattoo over scars?
Usually yes. Small scars are typically safe to tattoo over when the pinkness is gone, whereas deeper scars such as those from surgery may require several years before they are healed enough. Some types of tattooing can even help obscure the appearance of scars.
-
What kind of inks do you use? Are they safe? Are they vegan?
I use Waverly Color and Eternal Inks. They are a couple of the oldest and well-respected brands in the business. Both brands are vegan. Please ask about vegan tattooing if this is a concern for you, as there are other materials used in tattooing that are not vegan!
